Job Summary/Basic Function:

Reports to the Director, Facility Services;
Coordinates electrical activities such as: contractor oversight on electrical projects, college electrical system projects and renovations; repairs and maintenance on electrical systems;
Repairs and maintains all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery on campus;
Prioritizes workorders, analyzes electrical issues and determines repairs, and order supplies and materials as needed;
Installs new electrical systems;
Ensures proper safety while performing all work;
Follows the NEC on all electrical work performed;
Assists contractors and coworkers to complete projects and repairs;
Works on 120, 208, 277, 480 volt and low-voltage electrical systems;
Follows lock-out-tag-out procedures;

Minimum Qualifications:

State of Texas Electrician License (Required);
Five years (5) commercial electrician;
Three years (3) general, but varied construction;
General working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, HVAC computer systems, computer controls, fire alarm systems, and door control systems;
Operation of forklift and lifting equipment;
General use of mechanical and electrical tools;

Physical Demands:
Ability to traverse campus, sitting, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, vision, hearing, talking, and foot controls.
